Tournament: The Best Metal Album of 1985 – Qualifying Round 1

November 25, 2016

Nothing like that new tournament smell. This tournament will have 8 iconic metal albums from 1985 squaring off against each other to name the best.

1985 was a big year in metal. Guns & Roses formed. Van Halen got rid of Roth and brought in Hagar. Dee Snider stepped up against a Senate committee and dominated the conversation changing the music game forever. In the background of this amazing music was being made. 1985 helped shape the direction metal went in and is still felt to this day.

The only rule is the album has to be original material and recorded in studio.

To name the best album of 1985 we have come up with 16 possible choices. In the first two qualifying rounds you will be asked to vote for you favorite out of 8. The top 4 will go through to the brackets. This is a big cut right away so make your choices wisely.

The 8 albums competing this week are:

Megadeth – Killing Is My Business… And Business is Good

Fates Warning – The Spectre Within

WASP – The Last Command

Twisted Sister – Come Out and Play

Overkill – Feel the Fire

Dio – Sacred Heart

Accept – Metal Heart

Ratt – Invasion of Your Privacy

Remember only the TOP 4 out of this group go to the bracket. Vote wisely and often. Poll is on the right. ~ Martell
