Band of the Week: GEARS

July 13, 2016

Band of the Week Gears

We have been following GEARS for the past two years on WLM and when I saw they were heading out on the road with one of Morgan’s favorites I knew it was time to induct GEARS into the Band of the Week Club. Starting July 16th GEARS and Trapt are going to be ripping up the live stage the way hard rock should; with attitude and meaning. If you look at the video below “END THIS,” GEARS is a band that takes on the big issues. At first viewing you might see this as a call to violent action and considering what has been going on that might not be a good thing. In fact I was initially offended. However when I put my “big boy” pants on and actually listened to the lyrics and watched the picture portrayed I realized the song was a call to end the violence on both side of the issue. Music has a way of showing us the true path, if only some of our lawmakers and protesters would understand that solving violence with violence only creates one thing… more violence. GEARS has been through some horrific things in their young career and being able to put that aside and look to social justice means the future of rock is in good hands. – Martell

Miami, Florida based Hard Rock band GEARS have announced that they’ll be hitting the road with TRAPT for a 15 date run beginning July 16th at The Publik House in Tupelo, MS and winding up August 2nd at The Metal Grille in Cudahy, WI. We’re really excited to have the opportunity to support Trapt on their upcoming tour. It was so very cool of them to invite us out and we’re extremely grateful. Can’t wait to see everyone at the shows! – Jimmy Wooten
