Friday Night Six Pack – The Promo Pack

February 26, 2016

Friday Night Six Pack Banner

Your boss can take his micro-managing bad breath and endless stupid ideas that are a road to nowhere and stick it under his half-priced toupee.  With your check in hand and the entire weekend to jam out, liberation has come.

Floating down the highway your car just seems to find the liquor store (how does this keep happening?), and you skip down the aisle looking for the tasty suds that will wet your whistle.

Every Friday WLM is doing the same, but with the tunes. We’ll select some choice videos to accompany those cold ones. Come back each Friday and see what flavors are dancing on the tip of our tongues (I mean ears). You get the point.

It’s been a while since I’ve check out what’s coming our way in the world of metal. From new names, up and comers to some familiar names, this weeks Six Pack is all about supporting the new artists and new material, aka The Promo Pack.

Ghost Bath – Golden Number

This track hits all the pinnacles of atmospheric black metal. Surprisingly from the states, I could not get enough of this track. For the 9+ minute run this song has, it surely felt less than that. It’s that good, hell even the visuals perfectly accompany the atmosphere. Kudos to them!

Van Canto – Metal Vocal Musical “The Bardcall”

A great music video to say the least, we are greeted my a formal tale as the track ascends onto a majestic level. If you’re not familiar with Van Canto, they are one of the most unique metal bands out there currently. The only instrument they use are drums, other than that, it’s all pure vocals. Make sure to check out that vocal guitar solo later on, dam.

Oceans Of Slumber – Devout

Another unique metal band, Oceans Of Slumber is fronted by a black woman. I think that is pretty awesome to say the least. Progressive metal from Houston, keep an eye out for these guys as they have the talent to certainly become more noticed than they already are.

Walls of Jericho – Relentless

More female fronted metal to throw at ya, Walls of Jericho were highly involved in the metalcore scene when it was big not long ago. I don’t really hear much from metalcore bands at all anymore but it was great to see that Walls of Jericho recently released a new music video. I thought they faded away but NOPE I was dead wrong. Based on this track, I think they may be stronger than ever!

Drescher – Rock Me Amadeus

Another cover of this song, this might be the heaviest version of the track that is out there right now. At first I was like, nahhh this won’t be good, but then the song got faster, thrashier and heavier. The video is a little silly but I mean, not every video needs to be serious. I am very curious what their other tracks sound like, I can imagine they do not disappoint!

Dead By April – Peace of Mind

Wouldn’t we all like a little peace of mind? I know I would and the lyrical content of this track might be able to do just that, at least for the three minutes this track runs. Extremely heavy and equally melodic with clean/harsh vocals, after hearing this track I instantly became hooked. If you don’t mind a faint hint of electronics in your metal, you’ll dig this track as this track is already on my daily playlist. I tend to try and blow out my ears with this one everytime I play it ha.

Hey hey, you made it this far and the weekend has barely started. You deserve a gold star you rockstar you. Make sure to come back for more servings of the Six Pack with the staff here at We Love Metal and not just Fridays but everyday, as it feels like a Friday with us backing you up. Cheers mates!
