Friday Night Six Pack – Big 4 Time

Friday Night Six Pack Banner

Your boss can take his micro-managing bad breath and endless stupid ideas that are a road to nowhere and stick it under his half-priced toupee.  With your check in hand and the entire weekend to jam out, liberation has come. Floating down the highway your car just seems to find the liquor store (how does this keep happening?), and you skip down the aisle looking for the tasty suds that will wet your whistle.

Every Friday WLM is doing the same, but with the tunes. We’ll select some choice videos to accompany those cold ones. Come back each Friday and see what flavors are dancing on the tip of our tongues (I mean ears). You get the point.

It’s time for me to get a crack at this Friday Night Six Pack thing. With the release of Megadeth and Anthrax the Big 4 of Thrash certainly are starting 2016 off with a face melting bang. Tonight we shall take a look at some new, classic, and kick ass thrash. Now crack the beer!

Anthrax – Evil Twin

This instant thrash classic comes off the new album “For All Kings” due out February 26th. Belladonna and Benante shine through the whole album.

Anthrax – Got The Time

Lets off set that new stuff with the best Anthrax track in history. Well… in my humble opinion. Show me a better bass line and I still won’t admit you did.

Megadeth – The Threat Is Real

Not to be outdone by their counterparts were going to feature a little new Megadeth. Dystopia could easily be one of the best albums the thrash veterans have put out. A new age of thrash may be upon us.

 Megadeth – Symphony of Destruction

Just in case you need to drink a little faster we’ll include this fine brew. You have to wonder if Mustaine even realizes how good this track is.

Slayer – Raining Blood

I did say Big 4 so let’s not forget the peers of Megadeth and Anthrax. If Symphony made you choke down your last beer; Raining will certainly make you open another.

Metallica – Hit the Lights

As we bring this party to a close it’s time to Hit the Lights with the Father of the Big 4. Thrash on my metal friends. Enjoy your night.

Come home, the carpet job in the living room that was supposed to take 3 hrs max is now going on 7 with no end. No stereo to jam, headphones put away, ready to freak. But, to my rescue is the six pack and WLM radio. Grab a cold Carlsberg, and the big four, and all will be golden. Didn’t think this six pack would be consumed as such, but in the garage with the heater on my legs and my sexy wife, so hell to the yeah.

Symphony of Destruction has been speaking to me now more than ever with everything that’s been going on in the world. \m/
