Song of the Week: Mandroid Echostar’s – Paladin

February 11, 2016

Song of the Week Paladin

Mandroid Echostar was recently on tour with Protest the Hero and after hearing this one track from their new album Coral Throne you will see why they were picked to tour with such heavy hitters. The band continues to get classified as Prog, but in reality there are so many genres infused we are going to have to just stick with metal; and since we love metal Paladin is our song of the week.

Paladin represents one of many steps into new terrain on our upcoming record.” Proud to announce for the upcoming record the band has partnered with Distort Entertainment/Fontana North to release the album in Canada.

‘Paladin’ is the first new material Mandroid Echostar have released since the successfully crowd funded EP “Citadels” came out in 2013. It was recorded at Vespa Studios in Toronto with Juno award winning producers Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Cancer Bats) and Harry Hess (Three Days Grace, Our Lady Peace).

The song is a just a small taste of what you can expect from the new record. The track shows off some of the most intricate and correlative guitar work to date, with the harmonies only complemented further by dynamic vocals and galloping drums. ‘Paladin’ is based on a speculative fiction inspired by the real histories of colonialism, cultural genocide, and the clash of organized religion and traditional spirituality.
