A Winner is Crowned – Friday Faceoff

The Winner of our first every Battle of the Heavy Metal Frontmen is: DAVE MUSTAINE

Congratulations to DAVE MUSTAINE of MEGADETH. He went through OZZY, JAMES HETFIELD, DAVID COVERDALE, and JOEY BELLADONNA to be crowned our first ever winner. Although not heavily favored to win DAVE pulled it out in the end.

This was our first every tournament and we couldn’t be more excited with the response and attention it has garnered, but one nagging question kept coming up: what next?

We decided to move in a direction that is dictated by our fans. The next tournament is going to be a Battle of the Frontmen again, but only those not considered to have sold out to the mainstream. These will be the Frontmen and bands that still hit the clubs and release records for passion not money.

If you feel there is a Frontman that deserves to be in the 16 picked for the tournament simply email us at blknowlton (at) eastlink.ca and his name will be thrown into the hat. A random draw will then take place picking both the contestants and the match-ups. From that point further we will run the tournament the same way and let you vote on who should win. One other big point… the more you email your choice for the tournament, the more entries they get in the hat!

I can picture it now, once this tournament is done we will have Mainstream vs The Future. DAVE MUSTAINE versus the winner of this newest tournament! The fans decide the true talent, not the record companies!

Marz Nova of The Worshyp should have been put in the mix! He is an awesome new Frontman! His Vocals and style are amazing! Marz and The Worshyp are new and exciting! Marz clearly deserves to be at the top of any face-off!

I didn’t see my favorite Singer in the mix. Marz Nova of The Worshyp is amazing. The Worshyp is one of the best bands i have ever heard, Marz has a voice that is out of this world. It can’t be a true faceoff if the best isn’t even in the mix. Marz deserves to be in any contest he is like i said one of the best.
