As I’m sure you know, We Love Metal has been trying to make it easier for bands, especially our independent friends, to get themselves heard. To help with this we maintain a list of new artists and bands over on the right-hand sidebar. It shows the latest five bands and records submitted. Artists can send in submissions by clicking that Submit Album button at the top of the page.
Last week we added the News Bar, which you’ll see right above this post. This way we let everyone (artists, fans, reporters, everyone!) share news with everyone else. It’s a great way to get the latest sound bites as they come in.
Now we’re making it easier for artists to keep metal lovers up to date with as little typing as possible. Rather than submit a new album to us to review and then submit a separate news item, bands can now click on the Submit Album button, fill in their info and click the “Submit this as news” box at the bottom of the form. Checking that box means the album submission will get looked at for possible review, it’ll show up on the sidebar and it will appear in the news feed. Because, really, who wants to type all that stuff in more than once?
We’ve also been paying attention to the e-mails we’ve been getting and we’re soon going to make it easier to search down information we have on bands, albums and news.
