MARTELL’S METAL VIDEO PICK OF THE DAY

Here is the news sent to us today:

EYEHATEGOD: Last month, New Orleans’ own existential hardcore blues oddballs, EYEHATEGOD, successfully completed their near-month long Retox And Nihilism Over Europe Tour alongside Japanese doomers, Church Of Misery. The trek saw Louisiana’s favorite miscreants level over 20 cities, which included stops at Hellfest in France, Kriston Festin Spain, GSM Fest in Portugal, the Roskilde Fest in Denmark and the Stoned From The Underground Festival in Germany. Check out killer footage [filmed by mathiasnielsen666] of the band playing new song, “N’awlins Is The New Vietnam” at the Roskilde Festival http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/?p=3078

More news after the warp:

THE POWER OF THE RIFF: The mammoth five-date THE POWER OF THE RIFF will invade the West Coast this week, kicking off with the main festival in Los Angeles this Saturday. Those in charge of the event want people there early to check out the killer new bands that are playing first, so the first 50 people through the doors at both the L.A. show this Saturday as well as the Seattle show on 8/18 will receive a $50 Converse Gift Card. Early birds get the Chucks! The free 20-track THE POWER OF THE RIFF mix tape Southern Lord released last week is also now featured in iTunes, available at http://www.thepoweroftheriff.com

RUE: Akron, Ohio-based sludge metal bastards RUE have again planted their vile seed, and in these putrid days of Summer, in this foul Year Of Our Lord 2011, these corruptive crops are nearing harvest. The vines that shall sprout forth will take the form of Thorns, RUE’s first new release in over three years, and their first on CD in over seven. http://ruetheday.net

VOODOO HIGHWAY: Italian Hard Rocker “Voodoo Highway” (www.myspace.com/voodoohighway) play live at the Maelstorm Metal Fest with some Italy’s heavy metal legends: Crying Steel, Sabotage, Vanexa and National Suicide!

That’s the news I love,

Martell
