MARTELL’S METAL VIDEO PICK OF THE DAY

Here is the news sent to us today:

SOCIAL NETWORKING FOR MUSICIANS: Are you a musician looking to join a band or collaborate with other musicians, either locally or internationally? Is your band searching for the perfect member? Are you a teacher seeking new students? Or a tech, recording engineer, songwriter, or session musician simply looking for work?

Launched earlier this year by Unearth guitarist Ken Susi and his brother Paul, Intonation-Network — http://www.intonation-network.com — is a free, user-friendly, location-based social networking site that allows musicians and music industry professionals to connect and collaborate online. This site does not attempt to replace other social networks, but instead allows for the consolidation of all your multimedia from other social networking sites into one place.

More news after the warp:

ALL PIGS MUST DIE: Massachusetts slaughter squad ALL PIGS MUST DIE are preparing to set their debut full-length loose on the public this Summer. Entitled God Is War, the pummeling eight-song record album has officially been set for release on August 16, 2011 via Southern Lord Recordings, and bears some of the most hate-fueled hymns of the year. Combining of old-school Swedish death metal savagery with explosive hardcore aggression and blistering, punk/d-beat energy, ALL PIGS MUST DIE have quickly become an extremely recognized and respected act in the mere year and a half since the band’s formation. Their crushing 2010-released self-titled EP was initially released on LP via the band’s own Nonbeliever Records, eventually catching the ear of Southern Lord, who almost immediately picked up the album for distribution, and signed the hard-working act for the release of their newly completed God Is War full-length. http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/?p=2814

BLOOD MORTIZED: Sweden’s Blood Mortized is currently in the studio recording the band’s new album The Key To A Black Heart. The band has also checked in to make the following announcement: “We are really pleased to be able to reveal the name of our new bass player! Mattias Söderlund joins Blood Mortized! He will punish his bass on our upcoming album. He is mainly known for A: being a really nice guy B: playing bass with legendary Swedish punk band Charta 77.” “It will be great to finally get to record proper bass lines and work on a crushing bass sound on the upcoming album The Key To a Black Heart. We are very happy to have him on board and we welcome him to the band with a massive TRAKTOR BAS and a bloody CHEERS!” Select tracks from Blood Mortized’s 2009 self-titled debut and this year’s Bestial EP are currently streaming on the band’s http://www.myspace.com/bloodmortized

PYRRHON: Selfmadegod Records today announce that the label will re-release the debut album from New York City-based death metal outfit PYRRHON late this August. A nightmarish blend of clanging death metal with surreal psychedelic elements, jazz rhythms, and delirious storytelling, An Excellent Servant But A Terrible Master features 45 minutes of crushing, modern death metal from this promising young act. Recorded by Dan Pilla at Bad Lab Studios in Tabernacle, New Jersey in early 2011, and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Krallice) at The Thousand Caves Studios in Queens, New York, the cover art and layout created by Caroline Harrison, and the completed album self-released by PYRRHON directly. This August, Polish record label Selfmadegod will officially reissue the album with proper distribution and promotion worldwide. An official street date will be announced shortly.

CITY OF SHIPS: Avant-rock trio City of Ships have announced their much anticipated sophomore album, Minor World, which will be co-released by Translation Loss Records and Sound Study Recordings on July 19. Minor World is the follow-up to 2009’s critically acclaimed debut full-length Look What God Did To Us. Check out the worldwide premiere of City of Ships’ debut song “Low Countries” streaming exclusively at http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2011/06/city_of_ships_r.html.

That’s the news I love,

Martell
