There it is folks; the worst blog title in the history of this metal universe, but I do have a point to it. Unfortunately, it’s going to take me some time to get to that point.
The band Truth Corroded is a fairly well known Metal act hailing from Australia (let me start connecting dots – Platypus’ are from Australia). This band of semi-extreme metal heads has won critical acclaim for their 2008 album “Upon the Warlords Crawl” and toured their home country and Asia extensively with major names like Lamb of God and Behemoth. So when a press release for their new album “Worship the Bled” was sent out, I decided to do some investigating on what the boys were all about.
The new album is due out in early 2011, so when searching around I found a lot of teasers about “Worship the Bled,” and all the usual bio stuff that bored me a great deal. When that happens I turn to the music. The album I had was the above mentioned “Upon the Warlords Crawl” and I will start out by telling you what the band is not:
Truth Corroded is not the Hard Rocking sing along of AC/DC or Airborne.
Truth Corroded is not the Glam Metal of VICE.
Truth Corroded is not the Thrash Metal of Mortal Sin or Doom Metal of Disembowelment.
More of what their not after the warp:
Truth Corroded is not the Progressive Metal of Alchemist.
Truth Corroded is not the Metalcore of Parkway Drive.
Truth Corroded is the sum of parts of all the above mentioned Australian metal bands. Much like the complicated make-up of the Duck Billed Platypus, Truth Corroded takes a piece from the sheet of each band and uses it to their advantage.
They certainly have the guitar skill to keep the listener inspired like AC/DC, while having enough flare in the melodies to hark back to early Glam days (that one’s a stretch). The rhythm section is Thrash on most tracks I have heard, but with the lead guitar using some Prog techniques as well as Doom. For the Metalcore fans the vocals are stronger and more intricate then most Metalcore, but the raw emotion will be enough to keep you captivated.
I used the bands above because they hail from Australia, but to me Truth Corroded is a great blend of many different styles of Metal that can keep a wide spectrum of Metal fans happy. If you cram the best of Testament and Devildriver together you have a semi-aquatic mammal of the Metal world.
Pick up the album “Worship the Bled” in the next couple of months, and you’ll be very happy you did. Not as happy as I am that I got to mention Duck Billed Platypus in a blog, but still pretty happy.
Show me your horns,
Martell

Thrash Metal is a lost art, its nice to see site covering it again and bands playing it again.
The only thing better on the internet then this is Poker, but I lose money at that…
Been playing with these guys for years now. Good guys good band. Buy this album. Your right Martell, worst ever blog title. Comparison bands dont work either. A better line would be, “It’s not Truth Corroded unless it’s …. BBBBRRRUUUTTTAAALLLL!!”
