Metallica is GOD!!!

These heavy metal guys brought me in to this amazing dark world and I will forever thank them for that. I was able to express myself through their music, feel the lyrics and play it loud knowing all of the words to their songs. I was a teen when I was turned on to them by an old boyfriend, and I thank him as well because they helped shape me in to the person I am today. My mother hated it but let me express myself only telling me to turn it down about 20x ...could have been more, but I probably didn't hear her! Sorry mom. I remember not being allowed to go to the only concert (to date) that they ever played in our Province. I sat at the kitchen table, doing my homework (yeah right) with my Kill 'Em All tee on, playing the music and being so pissed off! . Now you have to understand my mom was strict and very religious so we were at church a lot and I was an alter server (don't laugh). I would wear that tee to church under my (transparent) white robe with the blood and sledgehammer showing nicely on my back with the words "Kill Em All" for all to read. Not that I wanted to kill anyone, I was expressing myself, being the rebel and I loved it. I absolutely loved the little dude on the front in the electric chair that glowed in the dark as well, that part rocked! And of course, I had the long sexy hair grown especially for head banging at the school dances, with friends and at home in my bedroom.

Metallica is an American heavy metal band from LA, formed in 1981. Founded when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in a local newspaper. The current line up consists of Lars, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. I will let you google the shit out of Metallica to get caught up if you don't know much about them.

As most smart bands know, you have to change and adapt your music and your look to what the fans want in order to continue to last. Their earlier music put them in the category of thrash metal, then underground heavy thrash metal with Master of Puppets, 1991's album "Metallica" was grabbing fans from mainstream the music category. As they change and adapt, they also grow because they carry the faithful fans through each of their stages and gaining more along the way. Brilliant!

Metallica has released nine studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, twenty-four music videos, and forty-five singles. The band has won nine Grammy Awards, and has had five consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200, making Metallica the only band ever to do so.

And now one of my friends was complaining just the other day that her teenage kids keep taking her Metallica CDs that she still listens to faithfully. The fan base still grows for an amazing band, lets all bow to the God, Metallica. You guys Rock! And I just had to my blog on you. AMEN
