He's Just a Drummer! Isn't he?
May 15, 2009

Scream, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Probot, Killing Joke, Tenacious D, Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Queen, Late, John Paul Jones, King Buzzo, Motorhead, King Diamond, Sepultura, Tony Iommi, Paul McCartney, David Bowie. This insane list of amazing musicians have one thing in common; Dave Grohl.

When he was born on January 14, 1969 I don't think his parents thought he would have 25 studio albums to his credit by the time he was 40. Of course he will always be connected with Nirvana as being the drummer through all the good times, but as you can see from the list above after the death of Kurt he took it to a new level.

With Kurt gone Dave didn't really know what to do with himself so he booked some studio time and recorded a 15-track demo that became the self-titled album for the Foo Fighters. The amazing part was Dave played every instrument and performed vocals for the entire album. I thought he was just a drummer.

Its very difficult to go into great detail about the man simply because he has done so much in a relatively short time. He is always on the road with someone and in my opinion started the musician for hire craze that is going on right now. If you need an all-star drummer just give Mr. Grohl a call. He certainly doesn't need the money, but hell he loves to play.

Everyone has a tendency to go on about Kurt Cobain being a musical genius, well folks if you look around about Dave Grohl I think you will see who the genius truly is. Oh and I heard he can play more then three cords on a guitar.

Just a drummer? I think not!
